Ice Cube Time Lapse

So now that I finally have an SLR camera a world of possibilities has opened up.

I have no idea what to do first and last, and I’m still a long way away from mastering a whole stack of features that are mostly still fairly blurry to me.

This weekend I set on a time lapse mission. First it was clouds, then table mountain with clouds, then the street movement – all of which became madly boring after a few minutes in.

Finally settled on the ice cube because of the drastic change over a fairly short period of time. Planning the shot to stitching all the images together took around 3 and a hit hours to complete, allowing for a full 6 seconds of playback. The results are awesome though 🙂 Here’s my ice cube time lapse

Using my Nikon D3100 with the following settings:

Settings as follows:
Shutter speed 1/100
Aperture f8
WB on Auto
ISO 400
Exposure every 60 seconds, using 123 total still images

HD viewing recommended 🙂
