So I’ve finally taken the plunge, gotten rid of my old faithful Windows laptop and picked up a MacBook Pro 13″ – the Core2Duo version from mid/ late 2010.
Great, I was now sitting with my shiny new Mac. Where to start? How do I install apps? Where’s the Start button?
Thousands of questions are bouncing around my head, but after a few days I finally got the overly-simple concepts that Apple brought to to the table in creating these amazing machines.
All in all, I’m extremely happy with my new notebook, in fact I think it’s safe to say that I even prefer OSX Lion over Windows – but that’s another blog all together. Here are some pics, pros and cons of moving over to Mac after using Windows my entire life.
- Easy to use
- Stunning interface
- The trackpad is brilliant and simple to use
- Battery life
- Surprisingly easy integration into Windows environments such as file sharing, VPN setups. Yet to try integration into the office AD infrastructure
- From using Windows all your life, you might need a few days to adjust
- If you’re looking at a MacBook new and budget is a must – don’t look here 🙁
